Commissioner Vacancy Announcement

The Spirit Lake Fire Protection District Board of Fire Commissioners is looking to fill a vacancy on the Board for Subdistrict 1. The Board will fill the vacancy at a public meeting on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 9 a.m.

Applicants must have been a resident for at least one year within the boundaries of Subdistrict 1, be registered to vote, and comply with all other state regulations. You may find the boundaries of the District here.

The person selected for the position will take office immediately and serve the remainder of the unexpired term through 12/31/2027. Fire Commissioners are compensated at $100 for each meeting in accordance with Idaho Code 31-1421. The Board usually holds two meetings per month but additional special meetings may be scheduled as needed.

The Spirit Lake Fire Protection District’s Board of Commissioners is elected to four-year terms, representing the three subdistricts within the District’s boundaries. As the governing body of the Fire District, the board manages and conducts the business and affairs of the District in accordance with Idaho Code Title 31, Chapter 14.

Public Board meetings are held on the second and third Wednesday of every month at Station 1, 32182 N 6th Avenue, in Spirit Lake, Idaho, unless otherwise noted. The meetings begin at 9 a.m.
